Contains a brief paragraph how it connects to your study of humanities. 1 point
The California academy of science is about giving visitors an experience that explains and explores the visions of natural life and the world. Scientists are also on a mission to find the new things about the world. All the natural life that is out there in our world or animals, people and any living thing that can be found in every one of the contients. humanties is connects because it is showing all kinds of natural life that has not been seen before to the public. I think this museum is giving people a chance to experience the ways science and discoveries that is surrounding us in the world.
1. Contains the following "analytical elements":
Observation: What did you choose? What do you see or hear or feel or think of in the choice you made? What is the subject of the work? If you chose a 'thing' what is the work made of and what techniques (colors, lines, shapes, textures)does the creator use? Be specific in your description. If you chose a place, be specific in your description of what you see or hear. Talk to your reader as though they cannot see the item but somehow must draw a painting of what you see or hear. 1 point
I decided to go to the Academy of science because i was interested on finding out more about this museum. i heard that it was place that was very interesing and learning more the natural life of science and find out more information about this type of subject. I also saw pictures of the building and what activites there were to do when you go to this place. Regardless of all the museums that were in san francisco, this one seem to be more appealing to me. i have already visited a few places like the exploratorium in the city but i havent yet gone to the academy so i decided to visit this place.
B)Interpretation: What is your choice about? Give specific examples to support this statement in 2 sentences; do so in a way that teaches us something about your choice. Make Paulo Freire proud! .75 point
This choice was about exploring something new. i am not familar with the natural sciences and the interesting things to learn about earths soil. Its been a while since i have actually have been familar with plants and animals. Well at least animals that are only found in the other side of the world.
C)Judgment: What led you to your choice? What do you think or feel about this choice? Why do you feel this way? Support your thoughts with specific observations. .5 point
The Academy of science wants to let people know more about the discoveries of earth and from life forms, biomes and space/earth sciences. I would say that is was different than the other planetariums or other places that have been to in the past few years. I actually was able to see a chameleon that can be found only in africa. also another memorable thing was watching a doctor operating on an owl. She was doing surgery on the owl by taking out its owl and replacing it with another eye from a other decrease owl. i thought that was very interesting watching this procedure up close.
D)Questioning: What else would you like to know about this choice? When completing the question section, lead your audience into the question by stating a fact you do know, yet you still have the related question. This way, both your audience and you will have an educational experience. Example: I learned that John Steinbeck's Grapes of Wrath was based on his personal experience working with farm workers. I would like to know if the characters he used in that book are fictitious or are they people he met? .5 point
I learned more about all different parts of science from natural life, biomes, habitat in places far away from the us and space science. I also got to meet a few of the scientists and how much they are a passionate about mammal, oceans forms and innovative things that the world has. an unexpected and still not all things are know that is living. I ask the question, how much life on this planet has evolved and becoming of the future?
5. Using your classmates work from last week, tell us one thing you learned from 1 student. Is this one thing some common experience you share or some experience that is completely different than what you experienced? Is this one thing related to our class theoretical foundation and if so, how? Is that one thing related to historical or cultural context of this country or a different one? Link that persons blog to this entry (eg cut paste that blog entry here) . .5 point
I have learned about lauren vale that she has visited hawaii, the island of kauaii. she hiked on the island a while ago. She seems to be very adventureous and like the island life. I have also been to hawaii, maui and wakiki. I had a great time visiting hawaii, another trip is most definitley in plan soon. cultural history seems to be very much about islanders and people living a lifestyle very different than residents in california.
