Humanties is in the field of studies of the arts and film and historical events of expression. This individual of nasir jones in the world of music, has earned a position in historical of Hip hop culture and african american community for success in a persons talent and form of art. Today, people seem to be more interested in what type of music they listen to, as well as the historical or culture that has happen in the past. Hip hop music has grown from a independent or unknown of music to mainstream and billion dollar industry.
4.Contains the following "analytical elements":
A)Observation: What did you choose? What do you see or hear or feel or think of in the choice you made? What is the subject of the work? If you chose a 'thing' what is the work made of and what techniques (colors, lines, shapes, textures)does the creator use? Be specific in your description. If you chose a place, be specific in your description of what you see or hear. Talk to your reader as though they cannot see the item but somehow must draw a painting of what you see or hear. 1 point
I choose Nasir jones who the world know as the Nas, the queens mc that raps about his life then and now. From his time hustling in the streets, trouble staying out of illegal drug dealer and also had a secret passion for music. At the time hip hop was on the rise with the artist of KRS-one, Mobb deep and ice cube and Dr. dre. Some would say that the music is growning with certain artist to hold the title of keeping hip hop music growing. When i think of NAS, i think of Hip hop, "real" Hip hop. visuals of turnatables, seeing breakdancers on dancing on a cardboard boxes and a person on stage with a microphone speaking about what he feels inside or how they feel. As well as new york city, the feeling of spoken words and stating it to the world. the essence of real and attitudes of a new yorker.
B)Interpretation: What is your choice about? Give specific examples to support this statement in 2 sentences; do so in a way that teaches us something about your choice. Make Paulo Freire proud! .75 point
It is about visual arts and the emphasing the form of culture that a person is interesed in and expessions. It is about an artist that has made songs "Ny state of mind", "One mic", "if i ruled the world" "Either' and "livin it" where he proves that he has passion of something and has the talent to entertain people with his music. At same time telling his story of stuggle in his early years to now where he has found success with his overcoming of lifes obstacles.
C)Judgment: What led you to your choice? What do you think or feel about this choice? Why do you feel this way? Support your thoughts with specific observations. .5 point
I chose Nasir jones because i am a person that is very in to the music of hip hop and the cultural that has grown since the year of 1987. I would say that i first started becoming passionate aobut this type of music right before i entered high school which was the year of 2001. I would say that he is one of my Favorites artists or "Mc's" of all time. I cant really say anything bad about this person, i only can come up with what his has brought to people that live in bad communites. He has brought inspiration to better yourself in life and also telling people to use ones talent that gods given you and to take advantage of it in your life.
D)Questioning: What else would you like to know about this choice? When completing the question section, lead your audience into the question by stating a fact you do know, yet you still have the related question. This way, both your audience and you will have an educational experience. Example: I learned that John Steinbeck's Grapes of Wrath was based on his personal experience working with farm workers. I would like to know if the characters he used in that book are fictitious or are they people he met? .5 point
One thing i would like to know more about this individual is what are his future plans in music as well as business moves that he will do next in his career. Now that you have accomplished your dreams, what other things to you want to accomplish in your life?
5. Using your classmates work from last week, tell us one thing you learned from 1 student. Is this one thing some common experience you share or some experience that is completely different than what you experienced? Is this one thing related to our class theoretical foundation and if so, how? Is that one thing related to historical or cultural context of this country or a different one? Link that persons blog to this entry (eg cut paste that blog entry here) .5 point
What i learned from Dawnyel last week, is about the california palace legion of honor. the fountain in front of the building was a western termanius which is a part of the lincoln highway "first road of america". explains how historical this object is in the state of california.
